THE DDA

The Cartersville Downtown Development Authority was established in 1987 in accordance with the Georgia Downtown Development Authority Act. Under the act, the purpose of the Authority is to revitalize and redevelop the central business district of the City of Cartersville by promoting trade, commerce, industry, and employment opportunities. To further that goal, the DDA founded the city’s Main Street Program the same year it was created and has integrated that program into their development efforts by focusing their approach through the lens of historic preservation. The DDA is committed to helping downtown thrive and to maintaining the historic district for generations to come.
